Fall 2020 FAQS
U14 Travel Team
What is the difference between Travel and Travel + Elite?
Regular travel team practices are on Sundays at the assigned team training session time. For the Fall season, there is not an Elite practice for the U14 age group because most kids are training with their school teams on the weekdays.
Where can I get additional Fall training outside of Sunday practices during the Fall?
We also offer skills and hitting sessions for an additional fee to give the girls a chance to continue working on specific skills after their school practices. These are optional.
What teams can we try out for during the Fall season?
There will be two U14 teams training for the National Hockey Festival during the Fall 2020 season. We will assign players to these teams following tryouts and the girls will train as a team each week at practice.
Do I have to attend the National Field Hockey Festival in order to be a part of the travel team?
YES, you must be able to attend festival tournament event in order to remain on the travel team. If you cannot attend this event, we will move you to the local programs. See more details under League + Academy.
Is there a fee to attend the National Field Hockey Festival?
Yes, you will receive more details about this travel tournament following tryouts. You must register for the event and pay the registration fee to remain on the Travel Tournament Team. This fee covers tournament entry, team fees, coaching staff for the event stick/supplies transportation, hotel stay for the teams, etc. This fee can be paid up front or in installments. You will be able to choose your payment plan of choice when registering for the event.
Are there any other traveling tournaments during the Fall season besides the National Hockey Festival?
Yes, we do have 1 prep tournament per team prior to the National Hockey Festival. In order to be eligible for the top team, you must be able to attend this event. While it is not required to attend this event, it is highly recommended for all players attending the National Hockey Festival. We use this time to train against some of the high caliber opponents we will see again at festival. This gives us the ability to test out line ups, positions, skill sets, etc. It is also a good opportunity for team bonding.
Must I travel with my child to the Traveling Tournament?
No, during this event the players can travel and stay with the team during the duration of the tournament. While it is not required that families attend this event, many families do choose to attend. If you choose to attend this event with your child, your child will still be required to stay in the hotel with her teammates and travel to and from games with the team.
Do we have to book our own travel?
Yes, you will book your own travel and transportation reservations for your family. We will provide recommendations and a team hotel, where all team meetings will be held. A room block for the team will be available for a limited amount of time. Details will be distributed for this following tryouts. Rooms for the girls will be provided as a part of their tournament fee, but parents and families must book their own hotel rooms.

We recommend kids wear a practice pinnie to all sessions. We use these to separate teams and run drills. You will be given a practice practice pinnie with your uniform order, once it is placed.
Do I need to order a uniform?
Yes, you order the uniform. U14s wear the Harrow Uniform Top and Skirt. All uniform orders take approximately 6-8 weeks to arrive. We will send out an email when we are accepting uniform orders and when the deadline to place them is for all registered players. You can find the link to the Uniform Page here: MERCHANDISE. All teams wear Navy and White Shin guard covers for games. You can also find these on our merchandise page.
How are uniform numbers assigned?
We do accept uniform number requests when they are first ordered. You can indicate your uniform # requests in the comments box when ordering via the merchandise page above. Numbers are assigned on a first come, first serve basis and we try not to duplicate numbers within a couple graduation years so kids can keep the same # throughout their time in our program.
