From Coco:
Favorite Field Hockey Memory? Why?
  • My favorite field hockey memory was going to Festival for the first time! My family and team was there, which made the experience that much better!

What was your most exciting recruiting experience?
  • My most exciting recruiting experience was my over night visit for Smith. My host was my sister, which was so much fun. I also got to meet my fellow recruits!

Why are you playing field hockey in college?
  • I am playing in college because I love playing. I knew that I didn’t want to stop and the next step was college! The sport brings me joy and it will be a great way to meet people.

What have you been doing to prepare?
  • During this time I have been running as much as possible and doing some core workouts.

If you could give one piece of advice to younger girls who want to play field hockey in college, what would it be?
  • Make sure you love the school and the team!

Who was the most influential person in high school?
  • It would have to be Marta Higbie! She has coached me every Saturday since 8th grade! She has shown me her passion for the game!

Favorite post practice/ game snack?
  • Goldfish!

What pre game rituals do you use to hype yourself up before a game?
  • I love to listen to music!

What made you want to be a college field hockey player?
  • I love the sport and I knew that I didn’t want to stop playing, so the next step was to play in college! It also helped me get into an amazing school that I love!

What was one of the toughest experiences?
  • I would have to say mentally getting back into the game after getting hit in the head!

Year you began playing field hockey? How?
  • I began playing in seventh grade for school, then I started playing club in eighth!
From Tina:
Favorite Coco Moment (old) / why?:
  • Coco started in our Texas Pride North program.  In the spring of 2018, she decided to start making the trip to Houston weekly. That is a huge commitment and at some point, it was just what her and her family decided to do.  When she first started coming to practice, she was super nervous, but she stuck it out and developed so much over the past two years.

Favorite Coco moment (new)/ why?
  • Coco played exceptionally well at Festival this year. It's a lot of work to make the trip to Houston during the fall season in the middle of field hockey season.  She did it anyway.  Our Festival team this year (2019) did much better than we expected and I remember being very impressed by how much Coco had developed over the fall season.

Story we will forever tell about Coco:
  • First is just how she was so committed to making the trip to Houston no matter if we had 10am practice or 7:30pm practice. Also, she would find flights that would get her to wherever we were flying around the country at a similar time to the team flight.  She would just text what terminal she was and find her way to the rest of the group.  All of this showed at lot of commitment and willingness to do whatever it took to accomplish her goals.
  • Second story is when Coco got hit.  She was so calm about it.  So many kids get really upset when they get hit (understandably), but Coco was very calm.

Favorite Coco recruiting moment/ why?
  • When Coco told me she committed to Smith.  She just seemed so excited that she found a place she loved and seemed very excited to play with her sister.

First memory of Coco / why?
  • My first memory of Coco is when she was not playing with us, but with a different club team.  Her coach would yell her name across the court, 'Coco...Coco'.  He had a loud voice, so everyone could hear it.  We were at an indoor qualifier in Libertyville, so the space was small and I found Coco on the court.  When Coco joined our program (not long after that situation), I knew exactly who she was!
