From Emmy:
Favorite Field Hockey Memory? Why?
  • Sneaking away to get Duck Donuts with Mia, Hope, and Vivienne and having to run to get back to the team after Tina told us 10 minutes since I suggested Zoe's Kitchen after not wanting Panera for the 3rd meal in a row.

What was your most exciting recruiting experience?
  • Getting to visit all these cool places that I otherwise would never have gotten to see.

Why are you playing field hockey in college?
  • To play at the next level and get to make new memories with a new team.

What have you been doing to prepare?
  • Going to practices, doing my run/lift packets.

If you could give one piece of advice to younger girls who want to play field hockey in college, what would it be?
  • Be open to anything and have fun.

Who was the most influential person in high school?
  • Tina

Favorite post practice/ game snack?

What pre game rituals do you use to hype yourself up before a game?
  • Listening to music and hanging out with my teammates.

  • Not wanting to give up sports yet.

What was one of the toughest experiences?
  • Getting recruited during COVID.

Year you began playing field hockey? How?
  • 6th grade, I don't remember but my mom said Tina asked if we wanted to go to Disney.

Favorite
Emmy Moment (old) / why?:
  • Emmy played on one of our original U14 teams at Disney. She was so little.  This isn't even a possibility for our teams now, but at the time. Somehow she ended up on this little U14 team with Annabel as their GK. That teams was terrible, but her and us have all come such a long way. Emmy was a part of many of our first teams
  • Emmy's little brother, Ryan, was the GK for many of our teams when he was a U12.

Favorite Emmy moment (new)/ why?
  • Emmy has always been a 'gamer'.  When Emmy wants to win, watch out. She's going to win. I can't count the amount of times Emmy has said to me, 'Put me in - I'll go score'. I loved that about Emmy. The passion, the determination and the confidence to just go out and do what she wanted.  She always had a passion for winning and I've loved Emmys competitiveness.
  • Have to note - Emmy always getting super competitive during indoor Hockey 5 games and getting so mad at the umpire when the calls were bad :)
  • Also, loved having Emmy as our Facility Management Intern for so many years - particularly this winter.  She was very helpful this winter preparing for all of our winter events when I was unable to do so.

Story we will forever tell about Emmy:
  • We always tell players that eventually everyone finds their new home when it comes to college.  I think this resonates with Emmy more than most. She seems extremely happy at Northeastern.

Emmy recruiting moment/ why?
  • Emmy's recruiting process was unique and challenging. Unique because it occurred during COVID and Emmy received an absurd amount of attention. So much attention that she had a daily schedule for 3-4 months with recruiting events almost every day. It took over all her time.  Challenging because Emmy despised this process. She couldn't stand being on the phone, getting on zoom calls, any of it.  It was exhausting for her to do so. I was so unbelievably happy for Emmy when she finally committed because not only did she find a new home that was perfect for her, but also, it was over. She was finally finished 'dealing with all of it'.

First memory of Emmy / why?
  • My first memory of Emmy is that she was so much smaller than everyone, but it didn't matter. There was so much attitude and fight in her, that her size never mattered. Emmy was always a gamer - out to play because it was fun and she loved the play.  When she wanted it, there was a really good fight in Emmy. That has never changed.
